3 Signs That Your Business Needs A Blog

Michelle Gifford is a brand strategist, business teacher and brand…
So you’ve come to a place where you feel like you have a handle on social media and are ready to start thinking about your next move. You may be wondering if a blog is the right direction. The short answer is YES. Read these three signs that your business needs a blog and see if you are ready.
1 – Google
If you want to utilize Google you need to have a blog. In today’s online world, people use Google to find answers to their questions and solutions for their problems. If your blog has the information they’re looking for, they will discover your brand. Think about the last time you searched for a product, solution, or information on the internet. You probably ended up on several blogs.
2 – Pinterest
Do you want to use Pinterest? While Pinterest may be fun to pin all of the great ideas you find, it can also be a powerful business tool. However, the only way Pinterest works for you is to pin your own content from your blog. Pinterest isn’t just for pinning and planning the perfect baby shower or cake. Pinterest is a very strong search engine that can drive real sales for your business and increase your brand exposure. More than two-thirds of Pinners say they’ve discovered a new brand or product on Pinterest, and 93 percent of Pinners use the network to plan purchases. That’s almost all of the users on Pinterest!
3 – Long Term Strategy
If you are ready for a long term strategy you can connect your blog with email marketing. Social media is important but it is a short term strategy; think of it as a handshake. Blogging and email marketing is where you make connections and money is exchanged. Email communication helps you connect on a more intimate level, build trust with your audience, and gives you a tool for making relevant offers to your audience.
Blogging allows you a space that YOU own, rather than depending solely on social media platforms that can change at any moment. You can even set them up in under an hour. I walk you through that process step-by-step here.
Your blog is ultimately going to be the best avenue for increasing your odds of being noticed online, establishing your authority, building relationships with your clients, utilizing Pinterest, and getting found in the search engines.
So what do you say? Is your business ready for a blog?
