Ep 022: Living for Naptime with Chrystie Vachon

I have no option for failure now! I have to make this work! That helps you move forward, when you have that fire under your butt!

Chrystie Vachon

ChrystieI love how Chrystie became a blogger in the days of what she refers to as “The internet wild west”. A true pioneer in blogging she has come a long way since her first blog and has since sold 4 blogs. Sold blogs? Yep, that’s right-sold. She worked hard to create a solid product and following and sold them! Her most recent blog landed her on Extreme Couponing, which is SO COOL!  She eventually sold the blog last year, made a pretty solid amount on, and has had the luxury this past year to figure out what she wants to do next with her life! And of course, being the mompreneur she is, she’s spreading her wealth of knowledge with other mommy bloggers who want to make some money during…can you guess…? NAP TIME! 🙂

My favorite thing is the awareness Chrystie gave me that it is never too late to start a blog. Mom blogging seems so daunting and over done but someone might need YOU. Your story. Your experience. Just like here on the podcast, you never know who needs to hear these messages. So don’t be afraid of how much it’s done, be aware of the fact that nobody has or will ever do it quite like YOU! And that applies to any business or aspect of our lives. Nobody can be you quite like you can :).

Listen in to hear about how Chrystie gave up her dream job and chose blogging and being home with her kids.  It’s truly amazing and admirable, and a huge testament to me that motherhood in and of itself is a dream come true and far more important than any job paying any amount of money!

And since I totally spaced asking her the all time most important question, here is her answer after we emailed later:

“I am a marvelous mom because every decision I make is based on my children. We’ve taken some big risks as a family (cross-country moves, careers, etc) and their safety and happiness is always on the forefront of my mind. I also allow my kids space to learn for themselves, this sometimes means watching them fall on their face, however, as hard as that may be for me to witness, I feel like it’s an important developmental step that kids need to learn.”
