EP 151: Kicking Anxiety and Kickstarting Dreams with Ashlee Ruesch
Today’s episode is special for several reasons, but the main one is because the guest is my own sister! Ashlee went through something all too common in motherhood: postpartum anxiety (and depression). We thought it would be important to share her story while it’s still fairly recent and fresh in her mind.
It’s important to know that what you’re experiencing will pass, you will feel normal again, and you aren’t alone! Please don’t be afraid to ask for help or to tell someone what you’re feeling.
In addition to being a new mom, Ashlee is reaching for her dreams to make a new album. She’s crowdfunding the project on Kickstarter! She’s given a link where you can download her newest song for free. Also below is a link to her Kickstarter page. If you love music or you have the means to help her dreams come true, please pledge to her project!
And because Ashlee’s my sister, I thought I’d include a picture of us together at the hospital while she was in labor.
Here’s our amazing mother Betsy who helped Ashlee get through the hardest days (and helps all her daughters in so many ways).
Her husband Mason was and still is incredibly supportive.
Here’s those dimples I promised you 🙂
I hope you can gain insight or find comfort in Ashlee’s story, or possibly from her music as well.
